Week 17 Summary of route trends about Tianjin Safround Logistics

2025.04.24

1. Due to tariffs, the US-Canada route has different degrees of empty flights in the second half of the month and early May. The entire route is open for receiving goods. If you have any questions, please feel free to communicate.

2.    For the Europe-Pacific route, freight rates have all been reduced in late April. At present, the end-of-month freight rates will be extended to mid-to-early May and are expected to decline slightly! Affected by the May 1 holiday, there will be a plan to stock up at the end of the month, and most of the empty flights in May are concentrated in the early part of the month. The market needs goods recently. You can try to apply for freight rates for multiple containers. European basic ports and piraeus ports are still congested. The Mediterranean route will impose a new low-sulfur surcharge from May. Please refer to the notices of each company for details.

3.    Due to the stocking plan of each shipowner during the May 1 holiday, coupled with the situation of overtime ships, the freight rates in the Indian and Pakistani markets at the end of April and early May are on a downward trend. Basically, it is mainly cargo, and large bills can be applied. Bangladesh routes are still mainly maintained, but the space is still quite full at present. Textiles are given priority. Please book space as soon as possible.

4.   The Middle East has a relatively dense shipping schedule recently. In addition, the shipowner needs to stock up during the May Day holiday. The freight rate will fall next week. The cargo is in great demand. Please support us. Although the direct ship space in the Red Sea is relatively small, the shipowner also plans to stock up during the May Day holiday. The freight rate is falling. The space is open. Please communicate more if you have any questions.

5.   All Southeast Asian routes have stocking plans before the holidays, including the main demand during the holidays. The freight rates are basically maintained or slightly reduced. Among them, Malaysia, Vietnam, South Korea and other routes have more space before the holidays, and the price has a slight upward trend.   The freight rates of other routes such as Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Japan are basically maintained. There is currently a slight price reduction trend. The freight rates of the Australia and New Zealand routes are basically maintained in the first half of the month. Due to the small number of shipping schedules during the holidays, it is best to apply for large tickets in advance.

6. In West Mexico, South America, prices fell in late April, and the space is tight. Some ships have a small amount of low-priced space; there will be a willingness to stock up during the holidays. Some Caribbean ports are tight, and the overall price has dropped slightly. If you have a shipping plan, please arrange it as soon as possible. Prices in the east of South America continue to be low, and the shipping space is mainly for loading. If you have a large-volume shipping plan, please arrange it in advance.

7. Africa line: The market cargo volume is still not ideal, and the freight rate basically fell slightly at the end of the month. Due to the lack of shipping capacity for many empty ships at the end of the month and the beginning of next month, the subsequent freight rate may rise; South Africa and West Africa markets need goods, and the basic shipping schedule and freight rate are relatively stable. With the introduction of the peak season surcharge policies and charging standards for African routes by various shipping companies, there will be certain changes in subsequent freight rates. Please pay attention to relevant notices for specific situations. If you have shipping arrangements, please book as soon as possible (especially for Mombasa in East Africa). If you have any questions, please feel free to communicate.
